Ahmed. yes role=author works perfect in memberlist, thank you. However it seems I can’t select to only display author role on template=list in sidebar? Is this correct?
in reply to: Having Profile Permalink Issue? Please see thisNevermind, I found solution now on shortcode Reference, on memberslist I am supposed to use role=author and not user=author.
Thank you for all your assistance.
in reply to: Having Profile Permalink Issue? Please see thisBtw, once I eventually get only authors to display on memberslist and on sidebar listing, will it be safe for me to upgrade to latest version of Userpro again, or will upgrade override the edits I assume you have made to files?
With regards to only displaying author profiles on memberlist and in sidebar (I dont want subscriber roles to be listed in memberslist or sidebar) , when using user=author in shortcode, it does not seem to do the trick…What other shortcode can I try to achieve this?
in reply to: Having Profile Permalink Issue? Please see thisOh wow! Thank you so much! I don’t know what magic you did on the site files, but when I changed to username now, I can now see the wordpress user profiles as well.
You really helped me out big time, thank you so much for excellent support, much appreciated.Just a quick question, how can I show only author role on memberlist and also on list template in sidebar?
in reply to: Having Profile Permalink Issue? Please see thisI have tried username permalink structure before, but will try it again now.
in reply to: Having Profile Permalink Issue? Please see thisHi Ahmed,
Thank you so much for your assistance, much appreciated.
I created a new user from userpro frontend now and its working, I can view and edit the profile. When logged in as the new test user, I can view my profile and edit it. However I can’t View other profiles (the ones created in wordpress itself), it gives the not found error.
So it is indeed standard wordpress users not created with userpro, which is the problem. I assumed that Userpro will display the profiles of these standard wordpress users as well, since userpro displays these users in memberlist with no problem.
Btw, Im not sure what you mean regarding using another permalink structure? Do you mean I must change structure again now? Or do you mean that standard wordpress users previously had a different permalink and that it is causing the problem? The standard wordpress users permalink structure for profiles,before installing Userpro,used to be website.com/author.
So basically a person can only use Userpro for profiles created with Userpro?
Please advise how I can get my already registered standard wordpress users profiles to display on userpro profile page? Or is this not possible at all with Userpro?

in reply to: Profile Links not working / 404I found this code, it might help: (wish I found it earlier, after sitting for hours on end editing code…lol)
function change_author_permalinks() {
global $wp_rewrite;
// Change the value of the author permalink base to whatever you want here
$wp_rewrite->author_base = 'profile';
$wp_rewrite->flush_rules();
}add_action('init','change_author_permalinks')
`
in reply to: Linking from author.php to UserPro profileI sat the whole day today with a similar problem, but in my case, the author is a custom post type “agent” , resulting in permalink to be /agent whereas Userpro link is /profile, so I went into the post type functions and changed the slug from “agent” to “profile”.
So I changed this:
'rewrite' => array( 'slug' => __('agent')
To this:
'rewrite' => array( 'slug' => __('profile')
I also added support for author to my custom post type as “author” was not supported.
'supports' => array('author','title','editor','thumbnail'),
This solved my permalink problem. I then had to find a way to display the rest of the “agent” page content on the USERPRO profile page, so I edited the “postbyuser” template and added my “agent” page php code inside it and then used short code for postbyuser on profile page. This results in content from my original agent page, now diplaying perfect on the Userpro Profile page. So I basically now use postbyuser template to display all the “author page content”.
Perhaps your theme is also using a custom post type for the authors, if so then the above code change will maybe help you solve your problem, else adding your author.php file content to postbyuser template, might solve your problem.
in reply to: Linking from author.php to UserPro profileThank you, but can you please give more detailed instructions/ example on how to do this? I urgently need to get this functionality to work.

in reply to: [Resolved] Request Verified Status & Delete ProfileHow to remove these two buttons completely from all the user profile pages? I dont want users to verify their accounts and I dont want them to be able to delete accounts either. I will be adding the users manually to the site and will therefore delete them manually from wp-admin when need be.
in reply to: [Resolved] Request Verified Status & Delete ProfileEta on when the manual verification feature will be implemented? I need to create users and user profiles manually and do not want users to verify accounts via email link.
