I want to get the posts of people who the current logged in user is following.
Ie. I’m logged in as Andy and I’m following Ahmed and John, I want to get posts only by Ahmed and John.
in reply to: getting posts from users you're following?<?php if (have_posts()) : ?>
<?php global $userpro_social;
$following = $userpro_social->following($user_id); ?><?php $paged = get_query_var( ‘paged’ ) ? get_query_var( ‘paged’ ) : 1; ?>
<?php query_posts( array( ‘author’=>implode(‘,’, $following) , ‘paged’ => $paged, ) ); ?><?php while ( have_posts() ) : the_post() ?>
<?php print_r($following) ?><?php if ( has_post_format( ‘video’ )) {
get_template_part( ‘video-post’ );
}elseif ( has_post_format( ‘image’ )) {
get_template_part( ‘image-post’ );
} else {
get_template_part( ‘standard-post’ );
}?>
<?php endwhile;?>
<?php endif; ?>
Gives me a ” 0 ” next to every post too. It just gets all posts, by everyone.
in reply to: getting posts from users you're following?If I had <?php print($following) ?> after <?php while ( have_posts() ) : the_post() ?> it gives me ” 0 ” next to every post.
in reply to: getting posts from users you're following?The user I’m following (just one on the my test site) has 5 posts and has the user role of editor.
in reply to: getting posts from users you're following?Hmm, I can’t get this to work, here’s my modified query.
<?php if (have_posts()) : ?>
<?php global $userpro_social;
$following = $userpro_social->following($user_id); ?><?php $paged = get_query_var( ‘paged’ ) ? get_query_var( ‘paged’ ) : 1; ?>
<?php query_posts( array( ‘author’=>implode(‘,’, $following) , ‘paged’ => $paged, ) ); ?><?php while ( have_posts() ) : the_post() ?>
<?php if ( has_post_format( ‘video’ )) {
get_template_part( ‘video-post’ );
}elseif ( has_post_format( ‘image’ )) {
get_template_part( ‘image-post’ );
} else {
get_template_part( ‘standard-post’ );
}?>
<?php endwhile;?>
<?php endif; ?>
It just gets all posts by everyone, not the users I’m following.
in reply to: getting posts from users you're following?Uh, I see every thread in the support forum being answered today, except for this one. 🙁
in reply to: getting posts from users you're following?If my question isn’t clear enough I can clarify. 🙂
in reply to: getting posts from users you're following?Anyone? Support?
in reply to: getting posts from users you're following?Have you got an ETA for the modifications you’re doing to the front end post functionality?
I don’t want to launch my project prematurely when there’s better ways to achieve this coming down the pipeline. 😀
I still NEED the main content field, I’d just prefer if it wasn’t a rich text editor.
in reply to: Modifying the front end publisherThat theme seems to be using jquery for almost everything. My guess is that it’s a conflict in version numbers or something similar.
If you remove the field ‘<?php echo userpro_post_editor( $i, ‘userpro_editor’, $args ); ?>’ in the template file then the posts just don’t publish since it’s a required field.
We need ways to add in custom fields and remove ‘standard’ fields. 😀
in reply to: Modifying the front end publisherThanks Ahmed. I agree with central geek, you’re doing great work. 😀
For me, the front end publisher is the killer feature of this plugin, or it could be.
in reply to: IMPORTANT: High Priority Documentation Needed?Any way to change the main content field into a plain text field (like the title) without options for paragraphs etc?
And ‘Post type’ should probably be removed altogether unless there’s more than one value set, ie. post,page.
in reply to: IMPORTANT: High Priority Documentation Needed?@IDESIGNSTUDIO I think it’d be great if Ahmed gave us some examples of WP_query loops we could run to retrieve member list information, that way we could use our own markup.
in reply to: IMPORTANT: High Priority Documentation Needed?Are we going to get options for removing fields from the front end publisher and adding our own custom fields? Because that’s really what I need.
