There’s a bug with your shortcodes. you’re adding auto-paragraph which breaks the userpro shortcode layout.
This is not a bug, but a bug from your own theme or usage. See the docs
Is that also causing the login after settings to break?
Is there a way to to prevent auto-paragraph from just the userpro shortcode?Yes, could be. I have autologin after registration here, and you can see it works perfect.
To prevent auto paragraph, you need to not use pre tags or empty p tags around the userpro shortcodes. That could be your theme or your coding style. Please do not wrap userpro shortcodes.
I don’t have any <p> tags around my shortcode.
I only use
[userpro template=register form_role=”jobseeker” type=Job_Seeker register_side=”Please Login If You’re A Member” register_heading=”Quickly Register To Apply” ]I can’t change my theme for this! Anything else I can do?
Just been googling “auto paragraph” and it seems its a wordpress default not a theme default.
https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/wpautopIt’s not a WP default, it’s a bad behaviour actually, and many poor themes use it. Here for example, why all userpro shortcodes are normal? Because the theme is properly written, again see my doc about the whitespaces/odd look of profiles) you need to remove the wrapping auto-paragraph/pre tags
When I check the page in text editor I don’t see any auto paragraph tags or any other tags that are added to the shortcode.
This is a very robust theme with many Themeforest downloads and is actively maintained with regular updates. It’s not just a cheap, quick, unmaintained theme.
Anyways, how do I prevent this issue that is occurring? I can deal with the odd look but the redirect that doesn’t work is a bigger issue that I need to work out how to solve.
I have seen many themes (top themes that claim they are robust) and do add_filter on content hooks that affect shortcodes. No surprise. How to fix this? To remove the content filter that do this. You can contact your theme author about it.
this is something similar to:
add_filter(‘the_content’,….)
needs to be removed/reset
How do I just disable it for this page? I don’t want to edit my theme files. I need a workaround that will exclude it just for this page.
How do I disable this on just this page? I doubt it’s my theme. It’s got one of the highest ratings and most downloads of any theme on themeforest.
I also tried deactivating my theme and using the default wp 2014 theme and the issue was still there.
What else could cause this?
Check if your theme has a [raw] shortcode or similar. That may do the trick.
I also have this where linebreaks are turned into paragraphs, although I know of no place where I told WP or the theme to do just that.
It may also be worth installing a WP debugging plugin. Just thinking out loud…
Cheers from the Mother City,
Helmar
I did ask my theme developer and he said they don’t use auto paragraphs. Seems to be another issue with this plugin.
Please advise.
I really need this redirect working. It seems like there is a bug in userpro here?
