^What I’m suggesting, Mike, is the option to choose how the text area looks via a shortcode. 😀
Not a request but an issue I have come accross with the front-end publisher. I have already opened a ticket but thought I would post a link to it so that everything is under one roof.
One other person has said they are having the same problem. Anyone else?

Thanks
Feature suggestion:
1) An option in the backend to set a minimum size for the featured image. So for example there could be a field in the backend which says: “Minimum photo width”. Then admin can enter a figure e.g. 1000px. This is to stop users from uploading images that are too small and would make the post look unprofessional.
In the front end below the image upload in small text there wold be text that says: “image must be at least ____px wide”. If user tries to upload an image smaller than this size an error message will appear saying “image is too small, please upload a larger image”.
Tying in with this, there should also an option to limit the image file size so no one can upload a 8000x6000px photo which is 5mb.
2) At the bottom of the post just above the submit button there should be a tick box accompanied by the following text: “please confirm that you are submitting original content and you are not breaching any copright laws” or something along those line. This is an important feature to add as it protects us website owners if anyone copies text from another site or uploads copyrighted photos. It provides us with deniability and protection if a copyright claim is made.
1. Yes, not a bad idea.
2. No, that’s the sort of thing you should be adding yourself if you want it.
@andy999 Well I suggested point 2 due to the fact that some of the most popular sites in the world which involve uploading user content (youtube, vimeo to name a couple), have something along those lines on their sites. I was not suggesting it as it is something I want, I was suggesting it from the viewpoint that I think it is generally best practice for user created sites to have something like this available, which is why I suggested it be added as an option.
Whilst I would love to be able to add this feature by myself, I do not possess the same high levels of technical knowledge regarding php etc that you do, and I would harbour a guess that the majority of userpro customers do not know how to either.
I do agree that it is not an essential feature, as this could be included as a sub section in a T&C page but neverless I think it is a viable suggestion, which Ahmed can decide whether or not to add it as an option.
Honestly Peem, if you can put the front end publisher into your templates you can write a blurb below it about copyright etc. 😀
Less is more and it’s less work for Ahmed.
The main considerations we should be making are two fold.
1. What are the essential features the front end publisher needs to be most functional for the most number of users?
2. What can we reasonably expect Ahmed to be able to do considering he’s so busy?
Hey,
+1 for the OP features! Points 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 are all on the tip of my tongue! Would love these to be implemented.
Would really help.
Best wishes,
You saying “write a blurb below it about copyright etc.” acutally makes sense now, when I first read your response it read to me like you were suggesting edit the core files to include a check box with accompying text (which I would have no idea how to do). But you are right it would be very easy to add whatever content I like below the userpro shortcode. So I would agree that point 2 is not required. And you are also right regarding your two points, they are the most important aspects to consider.
Thanks Andy!
Ahmed: if you are looking for inspiration regarding the photo upload feature, the envato website has set out their profile image upload in pretty much the same way I have described above.
How much % is done now? 🙂 Is it going at a good speed? I’ve just released v1.0.83 it covers a few important things -I’m publishing a topic with little tutorial now
Maybe user could use pictures from their Instagram Account to publish a post?
Points 6 & 7 would be awesome! 🙂
So, now can I actually upload file/multiply files through front-end with the new version of userpro?
I have some requests in regards to Meta keys. It would be great if You could set a value of a meta key, and and and option to hide it if necessary, and a media uploader that you can attach a meta key to, and an option of numbers of images. With this iI could use the front end for Woocomemrce which would be awesome!
