Thats strange, can you post a screenshot of the whole “Customize Fields” page? It should be on the side to the right.
in reply to: Customizing ProfilesWhat happens when you click on the button “Restore Default Fields”?
in reply to: Customizing ProfilesHi James,
check out this tutorial here:
How can I enable custom background image on user profiles?
- Open your WordPress dashboard
- Go to UserPro > Customize Fields
- Drag these fields from your fields list to the Edit Profile fields: Profile Background and Heading Color
- Save changes. Thats all!

keyhanjunin reply to: Customizing ProfilesIf you just want to show only gender and country use it like this:
[userpro template=emd emd_fields=’gender,country’]
Or if you want to add a custom field to the first example, e.g. Singer do it like this:
[userpro template=emd emd_fields=’singer,gender,country’]
To your other question:
Q:
TOTALLY just have the “Profile Display Name” to show up when someone is viewing the members in the Members Directory.A:
Just use the “Make a field hidden from public by default if field is hideable” option on all fields you want to hide. This way no other users except the profile-owner himself and the admin is now able to see these kind of fields whether they are logged in or not. 😉

try to overwrite your old plugin files with new plugin files via FTP. You don’t have to deactivate UserPro before doing this.
All of your pages & features will be kept alive.
It won’t OVERRIDE YOUR SETTINGS, but if you modified css file, or templates in core plugin they will be replaced if you didn’t back up.
Solution?
Use the templating way to edit your css/skins/templates. example:
Create /userpro/ folder at your theme folder
now to edit login.php template for example, keep the customized version in login.php in your theme/userpro/ folder rather than /plugins/userpro/templates/ folder got it?
For skins, similar. do in your theme folder userpro/skins/default/style.css (with modified styles, css)
This way you AVOID editing css/templates in CORE plugin and keep updates without an issue.
Central Geek has another solution/approach:
If you install and activate the following plugin “Easy Theme and Plugin Upgrades” (It’s available on WordPress.org), you will be able to upload and update any installed plugin or theme. I have used it for a couple years and it has never failed me yet. I hate having to ftp to update. And this plugin resolves that for me. Just make sure when you go to the “Add New” and choose “Upload” if you have a plugin installed, choose “Yes” in the dropdown before you click on the update button.

Hi @Zandooli,
just copy your “Item Purchase Code” which you will find on Codecanyon & open this link here to always get the latest version of UserPro: http://userproplugin.com/userpro/customer_portal/
This way you will get the most recent version way faster then through the normal Envato review procedure. 😉
