Hello,
I like the option to have users require verification, but is there some way I can have this work without requiring that users “Request Verification”?
I would like to have the user as unverified after they register, an admin notified that there is a new verification pending and the admin can visit “Pending Requests” to verify / reject.
Any thoughts will be of much assistance.
Thank You
Do you refer to verification badge? 🙂 Like the one you have? Or verification of membership itself?
You have this option to allow users to complete their account confirmation via email confirmation under General Options > New User Approval you can set it to Email Verification.
Thanks!
You can also make new accounts await account confirmation manually by admin, as done here in the live demo.
I would like to make new accounts await account confirmation manually by admin “without the user having to request verification”. I do not see the steps to do this – where can I find?
Login to WP, UserPro dashboard (Find the UserPro in left menu) then click on General Options
Scroll down a bit, under General, new user registration and check Require admin approval. Save settings, that’s all.
here are screenshots:
I have these set, the only difference is that I have registration disabled – the reason I have registration disabled is because I do not want users using the userpro registration form or the wordpress registration form, users are registering using social login – meetup.com social login (not fb or twitter).
When users login/register using the meetup.com oAuth, their accounts show unverified, however there is no pending verification in the pending requests tab.
Is there any way to verify these users that have not used the userpro registration form – without sending them a verification invitation?
Thanks
I do not understand 🙂 When people sign up with twitter or social app, their account is verified automatically.
Ok – in my case, people are only coming from meetup.com (social), but I want to manually verify their account before allowing them to see certain content. How much would I have to pay you for this customization? Maybe as an addon.
Below are the requirements:
1) When any new user register (no matter how the register), hold them as unverified
2) Add the user to “pending verification”
3) Notify the admin
4) Allow admin to verify or reject (if rejected, delete user account)Please let me know the cost for this functionality to be added.
Thanks
this is one reason I stopped using social login or social connect because I too want to manually approve new users, but the social connect automatically gets approved, without any way of requiring email address or any other field. You aren’t the only one posting about this issue in the forums.
I would hope this topic becomes popular and something can be added.. It’s like, well if you use social connect, you have no choice.. do it this way or you can’t use social connect. I personally will not use the social connect with that option, or lack thereof.
With that said, you can get around it easily with the current API.. for example, in ajax.php where fb connect is done
PHP12$user_id = $userpro->new_user( $username, $user_pass, $email, $_POST, $type='facebook' );userpro_auto_login( $username, true );You can change it to
PHP12$user_id = $userpro->new_user( $username, $user_pass, $email, $_POST, $type='facebook', $approved=0 );$userpro->pending_admin_approve( $user_id, $user_pass, $_POST);This for example, by adding approved=0 we hold user from receiving welcome email / or considered as new user, and by executing pending_admin_approve api function we set him as pending user, and he can’t login without admin approval.
UserPro API is so flexible in stuff like that, give it a try.
To hold a new registration use pending_admin_approve instead of logging the user, and set approved=0 in new_user function. If you use a custom oauth, you need to hook this somewhere in your code after they connect with their social handle (DO NOT let them login, just make sure that $userpro->pending_admin_approve( $user_id, $user_pass, $_POST); is passed.
