It’s not working for me either… It just refreshes the page!
So annoying. I’m using fundify.
Rob there is a conflict with the theme and Ahmed is working on it. Don’t be annoyed, everything will be okay soon! :]
Yeah not working for me either, it just refreshes the page =(
If it just refreshes the page, please make sure you have done the correct twitter app configuration. Are you all using fundify theme ? 🙂
I had this problem at first, but got it fixed. Here are the settings I used when configuring the twitter app.
application type : read only ** best this way so people don’t get nervous seeing your app has permission to write tweets for them when it doesn’t actually write anything.
callback url: http://www.uberdrivers.net **obviously change to your domain – had left this blank before and caused the refresh of page issue.**
checked the option to allow the app to be used with sign in to twitter.
no need for access tokens
if you’re using a caching plugin don’t forget to clear your cache before testing again =)
Hope that might help some people.
Lazlo. I hope all people can try your solution now, thanks 🙂
I switched to read only. It goes thru the whole twitter process then sends me back to login and I am not logged in.
When you say no need for access tokens, should I eliminate them out of the settings on UP or twitter?
I think you’re thinking of the consumer key and consumer secret which are used for UP (make sure you enter those in to the UP settings page).
UP doesn’t need the access tokens which are used for apps to have access to your personal twitter account to do things like make posts on your behalf. It doesn’t matter if you happened to generate them or not, but they aren’t needed.
Make sure you enter your site address as the callback url though. That’s important.
here’s a pic of my settings-
Thanks, this was helpful. Now it at least redirects back to my website, but it doesn’t log me in. It just returns back to the page with the login fields still shown.
