How can I speed up the site? Userpro has really slowed it down, is there anything I can do?
My website is artistsnation.org
I have a few plugins and one slider (only in use on homepage)
I can disable userpro and site speeds up a lot. Anyone wiser than myself know a fix?
Hey @Artist Nation, I noticed that your twitter / google sign in options do not work. I have the exact same issue…when i click sign in with twitter all that happens is the page refreshes…and the google sign in gives an error page!
Maybe post on this thread (http://userproplugin.com/userpro/forums/topic/twitter-fb-bad-auth/) so it gets more attention to get a fix?
Paul
Hi ArtistsNation, try this solution 🙂
Edit userpro/index.php
and Comment this line
require_once userpro_path . ‘addons/social/index.php’;This disables the social activity. Please try again now
Wow, yeah that seemed to help a lot. I’m not getting a better score on google dev’s testing yet, but site is much faster.
Looks like the social activity is a resource intensive and requires some optimization if you’re not on super powerful server.
Anyone facing similar “speed” issues, please turn off logging activity by Commenting this line in index.php
require_once userpro_path . ‘addons/social/index.php’;This will disable social addon until I find a workaround for the activity logging.
In your examples of shortcode, can you please include an example shortcode that uses all the options? That way novices like myself can edit the code instead of building from scratch. I know it sounds silly but this would be a great help. Once I see how you use them in an example I can edit the parts I need or remove what I don’t.
^that was to another post, please ignore. I got my browser tabs mixed up.
This did speed up the site, I can tell. However, it did not increase my google page test speed. I hear godaddy is not a good hosting service for wordpress sites but I’m not looking to switch anytime soon. I’ll be looking forward to a fix in future updates but in the meantime this is somewhat resolved…
Hi,
I experienced the same issue and the commenting out worked well. Thanks for the fix.
Note. I am using a wordpress specific hosting company http://websynthesis.com/.
ThanksHi,
When you say “commenting” Do you mean delete the “require_once userpro_path . ‘addons/social/index.php’;” code?
Thanks,
PaulIn the index.php
replace: require_once userpro_path . ‘addons/social/index.php’;
with: /*require_once userpro_path . ‘addons/social/index.php’;*/
