I have the member directory installed, and it seems to search on the username only. I have a member name that needs to be searchable too. How do I include this?
Hi, By saying member name – Do you mean to search by Display name ?
Yes. On my registration form, I have a place for Member Name. They enter their first and last name. It shows fine on the member directory, but when I search for that name or part of that name, I get zero hits.
In the WP admin, if I look at the WP user section, it has a column for username, name, and email. But the name is blank, their name from the UserPro form shows up in parenthesis under their username.
Additionally, in the UserPro Admin, Fields section. I have a “fields available” for username, display_name, first_name, and last_name. But IN USE, I have member_name. So I need Member_Name searchable. How do I add that?
Thanks!
I canโt seem to be able to replicate it on our test server.

I have the same problem as “rtharden”. can you explain please how “This has been resolved”?
instead of opening new issue.Felix, My problem was that I was not using display_name in my registration form. I was using a custom field called member_name. When I added the display name in on the registration form, and added the stroked to sort by display_name it all worked out. I also had to change a setting in my General settings, “User Display Name Field” to Display Name. Hope it works out for you.
