Hi Ahmed, I’m opening this ticket as requested. A few months back I had the same issue with being locked out of my website, you took a look and I thought by upgrading it would fix the issue, but it didn’t. I have the latest version just released a few days ago, and I STILL get “Locked Out of my website or Can’t Login Frontend or WP Default Backed Login Access”….the ONLY way I can get back into my website is by Bluehost Disabling My Plugins. After they do that, I am then ONLY able to Login throught the WP Default Method. This time with No 403 Permissions Denied Error Message. Before they disable the plugins…I cannot login the Front Website Access OR The Backend WP Default Access.
I’ve tried and so has Bluehost to find the culprit or plugin that keeps causing this…I can’t find anything…but bluehost KEEPS SAYING…“It’s User Pro, So you need to contact the creator of your plugin.” So here I am again my friend, trying to FIX whatever is wrong….seems to be JUST On My Website when using UP. I Love this pluging…Its been a Blessing to my business. I thought it was was WP Total Cache only to discover it’s not that pluging. I even removed WP Total Security & firewall Plugin…Not that Plugin Either. I removed S2sMember but traces of it still show up in UP’s Restrict Settings…althought the plugin has been deleted.
Also, I keep getting some kind of strange Login Re-direct that won’t let me in when…NOTE:(The URL Window When Trying to Login) Somethings NOT right with the Profile settings…intead of Profile 1 I get a artztre.com/profile-3 redirect….I just want to start over and manually set up thing again from scratch…so I don’t keep having issues.
Thanks Ahmed…..here’s access to my website http://www.artztre.com
(I’ll send this Private Messaging I don’t see the option while posting this Post.Blessings-Don
Logged out or locked out? If locked out-what that means? You are blocked from loging in? Does userPro have mechanism to block logins? I dont think so.
My website works good. SO i guess you got some capability issues with other plugins.
Also are you using custom redirects options in plugin? You also can easily check the problem – disable userpro plugin and see if there will be such problems.BOTH!!! I’ve tried everything possible…and Bluehost keeps saying it’s User Pro. So I’ll wait for Ahmed to see what the issue really is. Thanks.
Me too, i really curious how does those bluehost guys can tell that UserPro causes problems. Do they analyse HTTP header? If so, does header have entry to show which script causes redirection?
I think if you disable UserPro and there is no problems – this may indicate that 2 plugins uses WP hooks for redirection and that’s not good. You should use only one.
Seconds test (step): disable rest plugins leave only UserPRO and if problem persists – then this really indicates that UserPro have something to do with it.
How does LockOut even looks like? It says that you are locked out? Maybe you using some “Limit Login Attempts” plugin.
@Tomas…thanks, thats exactly what I keep telling Bluehost….They Insist that…it’s UP…even after checking this over and over again…I’m no coder….so I’m just trying to figure out why. UP is the ONLY plugin that has LOGIN/LOGOUT access to my website. When UP is DISABLED…..The ONLY way to login….is throught the backend WP Default. However…when UP is Activated…I can’t login through the FRONTEND or BACKEND. Thats what I’m trying to describe as being LOCKEDOUT! I have one plug that allows membership access to my site…and thats UP. Bluehost is convenced it the UP Plugin causing the conlfict. I just wanted Ahmed to take a look…because I’ve done everything he suggested for the last few months…and I keep having an issue…even when I try changing the theme….I don’t know what this issue is…Bluehost can be wrong!!! But Ahmed….can prove they are or not. Blessings.
A 403 Permissions Denied Error should not keep showing up, nor should I have to keep calling Bluehost to “Let Me Back In” my site…because I can’t login. I don’t know where to find the Error Logs Ahmed…any hint maybe that’l help you?
It’s now 1:09 am here in Detroit, Mi….I’m on the phone again with Bluehost…and they are Trying to see whats causing this issue….I just tried to login throught the backend 1st…and I got a Duplicate url address to of my website with the word Redirect before the website address…and instead of me being sent to the WP default login page…it sent me to the “LOGIN” page for the website…and I was still not inside the website. The second thing they had me do ws this….login from the Frontend of the website…I tried….the Circle Spent like it was about to redirect me to inside on the site…and BAM!!! Nothing…I Was Still On The Same Page….3rd They Disabled WP Total Cashe to test website…and see if it’s causing an issue…S2s Members all traces are deleted from database…but still show up in UP Restrict Content set up as an option….Thats Crazy…lol….They keep getting the same Lockout errors when trying to login. Now ALSO When login in through WP Default using “www.mysite.com/wp-admin” I am REDIRECTED to the Login Page…Instead of WP Default Backend page…AND I or Bluehost Kept getting “A SYNTAX ERROR.” ALL PLUGINS EXCEPT USER PRO were disabled, and I still couldn’t get in my website.
The Final Result from 2o minutes of troubleshooting by Bluehost…was “It’s the User Pro Plugin AND WP Total Cashe.” WP Total Cashe is now DISABLED…and I get a Systax Error Message Everytime I try to Login the frontend. with User Pro being THE ONLY PLUGIN ACTIVATED!!!…………..Hope this helps Ahmed. Thanks..Blessings-Don
Well me too if i go mywebsite.com/wp-admin/ – it redirects me to frontend (userPro) login page [THIS IS NORMAL]. but i can enete rmyd etaisl and after i press enter-it logs me in and redirects to Admin panel.
There is in UserPRo option (in Global Options tab):
Redirect backend login to front-end
set it to “Do not redirect” if you want to see login page if you enter wp-admin.Ahmed won’t help you cause this is i think bad configuration problem. It maybe caused because of plugin but not because plugin bad-but because plugin uses somthign which is bad configured.
Maybe in your htaccess file is some permissions set to wp-admin folder or some rules, or something else. maybe it checks referer page..and so on…Also what is that syntax error? you never wrote. 403 is not syntax error. This is just server saying you dont have right to access location.
Also all caching plugins are bad idea. you have to configure them VERY good, cause NOT all pages have to be chached, caching is evil if bad configured.
Thanks Tomas. I hope Ahmed at least takes a look a it to make sure of what the issue is at least. I don’t know what it is. The Syntax error message pops up in a window…I didn’t see anything else. I’ll logout and see if I get it again…currently…I don’t want to logout because I’ll have to call Bluehost again to deactivate UP so I can get in the backend.
“Well me too if i go mywebsite.com/wp-admin/ – it redirects me to frontend (userPro) login page [THIS IS NORMAL]”
Whenever in my experience…that as ADMIN I login to my website…I go through the Backend WP Default Login Page. After putting my username & password in the login window…I am then RE-Directed to my Admin Panel. THIS Is Normal Behavior.
But being sent to the LOGIN PAGE (Not WP Default Page) is what I was speaking of (Is Not Normal for an admin) thats why the WP Default Login Backend is there, or so I thought…lol. The login on the HOMEPAGE is where I get the Syntax Error Pop Up…andfter I try to login….I also think it’s a configuration issue as well as something we’re overlooking.
@TheProductGenius sorry if i sound stupid, but i just want to make sure i understanding the problem.
If you in userPro settinsg which i mentioned before, which is default i think, you have not disabled redirect then going to WP-Admin url WILL redirect you to the front end login page which is NORMAL and this is how you set up your UserPRO.
After you was redirected to frontEnd login page-you login, and after that you should be redirected to WP admin panel (if this is your configuration in USerPRO, cause you may set not to be redirected to admin panel).
BUT if after login to FrontEND you are redirected and opens some strange page and you getting errors, which you saying you getting but don’t copy them to us in forum, then it’s clearly has some problems.
Did you made changes i was talking about:
UserPRo option (in Global Options tab):
Redirect backend login to front-end
set it to “Do not redirect”Also did you used Panic key? UserPro have option panic key -specific url which allows you to go to wp-admin backend (ignores the redirection).
PS if you see all those forum topics poping out – Ahmed doesn’t have time for all.. 90% of request have nothing to do with plugin. Also Ahmed still develops this plugin-so i guess he doesn’t have much time for everybody.
I’m testing 1.78 and I think it’s a userpro issue, after a few seconds it says session expired and locks me out. On a site with 1.77 installed there is no issue. It would be very weird if a redirect setting is causing this behavior.
Don’t know… im using newest version and 0 problems. And please dont use work LOCKS it doesn’t lock anything, it may LOGOFF but not lock. lock means that you are unable to login because of some restrictions (errors, and so on doesn’t count as restriction). This “locks off” sounds weird to me, so lets use logoff as the rest of world calls it 🙂
Hi Tomas, I’m sorry for the misunderstanding, indead I mean it logs me out. But I have found it !!!!
It’s not a userpro issue, it’s firefox. I’m running FF 28.0In chrome there is no issue
It’s definately NOT a firefox issue for me…I’m using Google Chome. I just tried unsuccessfully 3 times to login to the forums here (This Page)…and Nothing! The SAME behavior that my site does after you’ve been IDLE for an extended amount of time. I was in the forums on Wed…but left it open and tried to login again….I coudn’t login in….Could THIS possibly be the issue Ahmed? Remember, my old post about this same issue a few months ago….This Was The Behavior I posted about. NOTE***Everytime I leave my website idle while signed in….when I come back to it….I CAN’T log back in after….without the HELP of Bluehost.
Not until I refreshed my browser did it just JUMP to this thread already logged in…but the previous attemps didn’t log me in AT ALL!!! It’s 11:51pm EST here….This JUST Happened. This is getting strange.
DO you have any other hosting? session is not managed by php scripts.they can make them and so on but sessions si stored in server, maybe bluehost deletes sessions..or something. Believe me many people would have this is this would be an issue.
ALso try other browser, maybe you have some add’on..google chrome is fucking shitty browser if we talk about security. Any 3rd party app can install extentions to it without you even seeing.
I soemwhere red that AHmed will go somewhere..and will be out of this site, maybe try to write him message.
ALSO do you have this behavior only with admin account? maybe i can register to your website as user and test it? 🙂
