Hi,
I’ve updated my version of Userpro and now have messages nagging me to register my copy of the plugin. Normally as I’m working on a development server and the site isn’t live yet this wouldn’t be a problem, but it appears the plugin is now in ‘demo’ mode and I’ve lost functionality so I can’t finish the job.
I can register it, that’s not an issue as I have a valid license, but can you please answer the following queries:
Is the license tied to a particular domain? As I’m working on a dev server the domain will change when the site goes live and I don’t want it to suddenly go into demo mode again and slash warning messages all over my clients new website.
If it is linked to a domain, can I submit a support request to have this updated to the live domain, and if so how long is it going to take to go through?
I’m a bit disappointed with this change to be honest, I don’t mind warnings (as Visual Composer does) but removing functionality has meant I’m unable to work on my clients site until it’s been verified.
Thanks
Hi familychoice,

No! Use the same license and when you’re happy, buy another license. Simple. You can just use the same license until you buy another license, It won’t check your domain, or check that your domain can be used. you do not need to submit any requests for that.
By the way, the only differences between trial and full:
– The warnings
– The limit of member list displayI was trying to give every user a full experience hassle free, you do not have a problem since you already have a license and can use it on your demo sites and development sites, it is ok as long as it is not used actively (then you need a new license)
– On every new installation on new domain, the warnings will appear – you can’t avoid that, but it takes one second to activate the license in backend. Again, the domain name is not required to be whitelisted or anything. you have to enter a valid key whenever you make a new installation. You can ask your client to use the license key you bought for them (I assume people will do that, buy a license for each site) and I do not put any more checks to make your life hard (e.g. check domain validity, if license was used already, etc) Let me know what you think
Thanks for the reply.
That’s great, I’m only using the plugin on one site (using a dev URL) at the moment but will be updating it’s domain when the site goes live. I will be purchasing new licenses for future jobs as I’m very happy with the plugin, so it’s good to know there’s no issues when the sites go live.
>You can ask your client to use the license key you bought for them
I’ve installed the plugin and am developing their site so they won’t need to do this unless it’s required when the plugin’s updated, which would be a bit of a hassle.
No problems at all. Only purchase a license when you are sure that you will be using it on another domain actively and use your current license to do all the testing 🙂
I will mark this thread as resolved but feel free to open a new topic if you have any question

No! You can update the plugin without having to re-verify your license. It would be hassle to enter the license key on every update.
Thanks!
