I can’t seem to get profiles to integrate with the standard wordpress template files.
If I put
<?php echo do_shortcode('[userpro template=view header_only=true max_width=100%]'); ?>
on my author page it appears as just a ‘log in’ box to users who aren’t registered/logged in and to users who are logged in it appears as their own header with ‘edit profile’, not the author whom they’re actually viewing.If I update my permalink settings to use http://www.mydomain/author/ as my ‘profile page’ it works as a profile page, but it doesn’t use author.php, it seems to just use an ordinary page template, I need to use author.php for a lot of different reasons! I was under the impression (and was told as such) that this plugin would integrate with standard wordpress template files easily enough, so I really hope it does!
And the plugin seems to take over my own log in boxes and redirect me to a log in page instead of logging in with the model that I have set up. How do I disable logging in with the plugin and have it use my own login and registration forms that I’ve spent time styling etc?
The dev staff seem really active on this forum and I appreciate that, I hope there’s a solution.
Thanks.
You need to add user=author 🙂 or user=XX the username you need
Can you write the code for what you mean?
I hope it can be done dynamically so each author page = whatever author that is, because I can’t be going around creating new templates for each user!
Thanks
Oh wait I get what you mean
<?php echo do_shortcode('[userpro template=view header_only=true max_width=100% user=author]'); ?>
on author.php 😀Ok, but that still throws up some issues, like when I click on people who I’m following I still get http://www.sitename.com/profile/user-name instead of http://www.sitename.com/author/username.
And how do I stop the plugin from over riding my own login?
Yes, that’s the profile permalink of UserPro. UserPro does not use the author link, instead it uses the profile permalink.
