Hi Ahmed,
I am trying to set up front-end publishing and I want the posts to automatically be assigned to a category of my choosing. So I set up a new category called Community with the slug: community. I have created the following shortcode but when I view the posts they have not been assgined to this category.
Any ideas why this might be? Is my shortcode wrong?
Shortcode:
[userpro template=publish publish_heading=”Write an article” taxonomy=community category=community publish_button_primary=submit]
Thanks
Is the community a category for which taxonomy, I mean, are you sure the taxonomy (not category) slug is community too? Sure?
All I did was go onto the posts category page, then in the add new category section I entered the name as: Community and the slug as: community.
Is a category not a taxonomy? To be honest I havent had any previous experience with taxonomies, I have only ever created categories before.
Apologies for being such a wordpress noob!
The correct code should be:
taxonomy=category category=community 🙂
Just tested it. Honestly, taxonomy is 99% category, but if you’re posting to a default tag instead of category, taxonomy=post_tag, if you are publishing product (WooCommerce) taxonomy=product_cat or product_tag etc..
taxonomy is the mother of categories. Hope that clears the confusion
