Hi All,
This issue has been resolved thanks to support from Manju. The trick was to set the “Password” field as mandatory, but make the “Confirm Password” non-mandatory (i.e. don’t tick the red cog). That solved it for me. I think it’s a bit odd but it’s working now. Thanks again for your help.

in reply to: Confirm Password Doesn't Actually ConfirmHi,
I am continuing to have the same problem as I have mentioned in similar threads. Just updated to version 2.22 because the code change mentioned there was a bug fix to image profiles. Unfortunately this didn’t fix my problem. Here is what I did:
1. Deleted my /plugins/userpro folder entirely and then loaded in v2.22. By doing this I have gone back to the default hooks-filters.php
2. Removed profile picture, saved, tried to load in a new one, saved again and the problem continues to exist.
3. I have tried toggling “Method A and Method B”, and “Path Compatibility” but to no avail. Each time I change these settings I go back to the user profile, delete the picture, save, re-load page, add new pic, save and the problem persists. I can’t toggle “URL Encoding” because whenever I hit save it just goes back to “Disabled”.Looking at the HTML code this is the link the profile image is trying to load: https://wildrocket.com.auhttps%3A%2F%2Fwildrocket.com.au%2Fmedia%2Fuploads%2Fuserpro%2F1%2F54be129a98433.png
I could change the hooks-filters.php as Mr.J suggested in a different thread, but I’d prefer if it just worked.
Thanks!

in reply to: Avatars are not workingHi there,
Just wondering if there had been any update with a resolution to this issue? I just tested the problem again and I am able to create a new user account using two completely different passwords in the “Password” and “Confirm Password” fields. Running WordPress 4.1 and UserPro 2.21
Cheers,
Rusty

in reply to: Author image not showing anymore on some profliesHi Mr.J
Thanks so much! Yes this worked for me and UserPro is now showing user photos. However, the user photo is now stretched. You can see what I mean here: http://wildrocket.com.au/userprophoto.png
Any suggestions?
Thanks again!

in reply to: [Tutorial] How to fix profile picturesThat is correct, I am not getting a “Passwords do not match” warning on my site and UserPro is allowing the registration of a new user even though the passwords to not match. This appears to only apply to a NEW user registration, not an existing user changing their password. Thank you for your help, I will send my website details through codecanyon.
in reply to: Confirm Password Doesn't Actually ConfirmSure thing, will do. Thanks for your help.
in reply to: Author image not showing anymore on some profliesHi there,
Yes I am experiencing a similar problem with profile pictures not being displayed. I just updated from WordPress 3.9.1 and UserPro 1.0.87 to WordPress 4.1 and UserPro 2.20.
If I click on a profile picture and load it in a new tab so I can view the actual URL, this is what I get: https://wildrocket.com.auhttps%3a%2f%2fwildrocket.com.au%2fmedia%2fuploads%2fuserpro%2f1%2f54aa20df4f53c.png
(notice how there are two wildrocket.com.au)
I have read the documentation and adjusted settings but to no avail.
Tried “Method A” and “Method B”
Tried toggling “URL Encoding” but it always reverts back to “Disable” after I hit save. I guess this has something to do with my server.
External Profile Pictures are “Save them to my server”Under WordPress Settings –> Discussion, I have “Show Avatars” enabled. This is where I noticed something interesting in that all of the Avatars listed (Mystery Person, Blank, etc) are being displayed as square boxes with question marks inside – i.e. broken links!! This is exactly how UserPro is displaying the broken profile pictures. I then disabled the UserPro plugin and all of the Avatars came back under Settings –> Discussion. I re-activated UserPro and the Avatars broke again. I believe these two issues are related.
In UserPro I tried “Clear unused junk”, “Clear Members Cache” and “Clear deleted users stuff” but to no avail.
Could you please assist?
Thank you,
Rusty
in reply to: Author image not showing anymore on some profliesAh that’s great to hear, thank you for clarifying all of that.
All the best,
Russ 🙂
in reply to: Password Management – Clear, Encrypted or HashedHi Ahmed,
Yes very good point, thanks. I will remove it from the email template.
Randomly generated passwords are fine to be emailed, as long as the user is forced to change their password upon next login. Then the password they enter will be ‘theirs’ and never emailed out. I don’t use the social account feature, so I’m only considering all of this purely from a WP account perspective.
You mention WP hashes the passwords, which is great, but at the time of first registration UserPro must know what the password is in order to be able to email it in cleartext. Therefore, UserPro ‘intercepts’ the entered password before it is hashed? If so, will UserPro continue to intercept entered passwords even if they are changed at a later time, or will it just intercept the password only at first time registration?
I may be missing something here, I’m not sure… please let me know. My understanding is that an entered password should be hashed by WP immediately and therefore all other applications should only ever know the hash. Other applications should not intercept entered passwords and have any record of them… emailing a password in cleartext is a form of a record. But I have not considered the social login aspect, so I may be missing that piece of the puzzle.
What do you think?
Thanks,
Russ
in reply to: Password Management – Clear, Encrypted or HashedHi Ahmed,
Thank you for your quick reply. That’s good to know, thanks for putting me at ease.
I am not sure what you mean by “It uses the form/real pasword only when emailing it to the user.” – could you please clarify?
For me, passwords should *never* be sent in the clear in any email whatsoever. Generally speaking, emails are not encrypted and are not a secure method of communication.
Thanks again,
Russ
in reply to: Password Management – Clear, Encrypted or HashedGreat, thank you. I also have the same issue. The SSL cert padlock is not shown in Safari as a result of this. Firefox shows it because it must be a bit more forgiving. Not sure about Chrome. Anyway, thanks again, looking forward to the update. 🙂
in reply to: SSL IssueHi Ahmed,
Thanks for looking into this.
I *just* found the problem why the icon’s weren’t loading… I had this .htaccess file in the wp-content folder (which I had actually renamed to ‘media’ for security reasons):
# Prevents Access To wp-content By File Type
Order deny,allow
Deny from all
<Files ~ “.(xml|css|jpe?g|png|gif|js)$”>
Allow from all
</Files>After I removed that, all the icons came back!
