Why be a dick?
Just trying to make Ahmed feel bad? He puts countless hours into maintaining and improving the best-of-its-kind plug-in. He’s not stupid; he knows people pirate software – but why rub it in?
UserPro is a bargain at $30. Those of us with more than one testicle will happily pay for a legitimate copy. You can do whatever you want.
in reply to: Get it freeYeah, that’s a great idea. Hope I didn’t seem overly critical, because the plug-in is, pardon my french, fucking amazing. The more I learn about what it can do, the more impressed I am.
Dana’s post above is really helpful. Especially good stuff in the shortcode reference:
http://userproplugin.com/userpro/shortcode-reference/Like anything WP, it takes commitment from the user to make the most of a product, so I will add to the user docs as I learn more about what UserPro is capable of. Thanks VRFX.
in reply to: Tutorials list, others? shortcode how it worksOh sorry, I thought you were a fresh rapper from the 1980’s. My bad. 😉
Old thread, yes. But if you are still interested in this feature – click the link I posted above and look closely. The blokes of UserPro would like an additional fourteen smackaroos for their next level beats.
in reply to: Messaging add-on notifications?Here’s your future EPMD:

Don’t update!
or… Don’t use custom badges!
or… Backup your badges before uploading!in reply to: Loose Custom Badges During UpdatesI’d try putting it anywhere in your template where you think the user might see it.
Probably whatever page the user gets redirected to after successful registration.
It’s not working for me. But my theme is using <?php the_author_posts_link(); ?> to display the author name.
I’ve also tried echo get_the_author_meta(‘display_name’);
but obviously that doesn’t work because it doesn’t add an anchor. (Just plain text display name.)I wonder what I need to change it to in my template to get the rewrite to work.
in reply to: How-To: Changing "Author" BaseThe plug-in could really use some kind of ‘getting started’ guide.
After activation, nothing changes on your site to indicate that userpro is enabled. As a new user, I immediately looked to see if it added any basic widgets. None.
It seems everything is accomplished by shortcodes. And the only type of guide in the backend is a link to these forums. It’s a fairly unique plug-in in this way.
