Version 1.0.66 introduces a much requested field type, a date picker, built with CSS3 and jQuery to allow user to choose a date for any field you want. You can see an active example here:
http://userproplugin.com/userpro/profile/register/
I am going to explain how to add that field to your forms.
Step 1
Create a new field, and choose “Date Picker” as field type. See image
Step 2
Move the field to your register/profile forms (Drag and drop the field you created)
Step 3
That’s it. You have a fully functional Date Picker field as seen in the Register demo of this website. This is how it looks to the frontend user
That’s it 🙂
Is it possible to use the date picker to ask the date of birth of the user, and the field “age” is calculated based on the date entered?
This requires sort of conditional fields programming – While it won’t be ready in that update, I’ll try to cover most date picker options first in this release, and later I can try to program a way to connect age with birthdate (automatically). e.g. you’d need to know the year and calculate it based on current year (say we’re 2014 and user put birthyear 1990 .. it needs some calculations and conditional code 🙂
I could also integrate this new datepicker feature with user birthdates, like showing who have a birthday today
Hi there, just wondering when the additional features such as choosing which years will show and US date format will be added, as I know there was a delay before. Thanks!
Yes there’s a delay because I have implemented some bug fixes. I hope it won’t be delayed anymore 🙂
Is it already possible to display an age field, by using a user birthday?!
yes it’s possible-only just you have to make it 😀
Ahmed WONT do all request, cause this pluin will become crap with stupid ideas. H already implemented use of ajax callbacks. with it you can check, validate any field. And if people don’t know php hire someone or learn. I have learned this way php, C# and so on.
Hi again Ahmed, will you be adding the year format features soon? Thank you.
Ahmed, do you plan on tweaking the date picker like we talked about before? Letting us decide which date format to show, which years to show, etc.?
