Fill in the name, create a Unique Field Key, fill in the help field (if you want to tell people how to use it). Then click on Publish. Once published, you can move that field into the Edit Profile Fields wherever you want it and save it.

Then whatever files you allow to be used on your site, via the settings for the site, your users should be able to upload.

You can also edit Allowed file extensions when creating the file upload field to make sure that users won’t upload something bad, or not wanted in that field. Image only, text only, etc…
