I have a problem regarding profile links.
After changing the permalink to “username” the permalink occured a 404-error. I have now changed it backed to “user-ID”. Now i am always redirected to my own profile, when I click on someone else’s profile link.
It doesn’t matter if the user profile is made by Userpro or in the backend. I also tried to flush the permalinks.
Same problem here.
I deactivated all plugins and found out that userpro is not compatible with tevolution from templatic.
Too bad because tevolution is the core of the theme chosen by our client and we can’t change it.alcaris does it work with different theme? Also please verify your purchase.
@Sebastian, did you try with other themes/ other plugins disabled?
Sorry Ahmed, I don’t have other themes to test it with (besides the default wp themes).
What do you mean with “verify your purchase”?Given the number of people complaining about this profiles issue, are you planning to work on it anytime soon?
Your plugin is nice and it has a lot of features that I need and I couldn’t find elsewhere; plus, I bought the regular license and I would upgrade it to the extended one for other sites I’m working on if only the plugin worked.
Right now I have to find another solution asap.I disabled all the plugins one by one, but the error is still the same. I don’t have another theme to test it, but another theme isn’t an option anyway.
Well, If it’s the theme creating the conflict you can’t blame UserPro for that. I am not magician to fix broken code in other plugins and themes. Test UserPro with twentyfourteen theme (default) and no plugins installed- if the issue persists, let me know. As I said, IT IS NOT MY RESPOSABILITY to FIX BROKEN CODE, I think you’d do the same if you were in my position.
@alcaris People nowadays threat of using another solution – I say GO and try the other solution, do not inform me of it here. I am confident of what I’ve done, and I know that userpro is far in features and support than any other solution, so that’s not really going to concern me, you better cooperate with me to find the issue – If your theme code is broken and affect UserPro why you expect me to fix other’s code? You have not tested this on default theme right? You yourself said you’ve tested that it’s not compatible with specific template. That could be fixed from the theme’s developer, not me. There are literally thousands of broken themes and yes they are so popular. Here for example, why you do not see the profile link issue? Well. Your choice, I won’t force you to stick to userpro – but I do not like the threatening tone.
Ahmed, I’m sorry for the misunderstanding. It wasn’t a threat.
I’m a developer too (not a wordpress one), it’s perfectly clear to me that you can’t fix other developers’ code and I understand that the wp ecosystem is a jungle.
But as a customer, it’s my right to warn you about incompatibilities between your plugin and other themes.Incompatibility is expected, there are some themes that apply auto-paragraph to all shortcodes and makes the UserPro shortcodes screw up – that is an example of how broken themes can affect other plugins. There are many things that I do not have control on, including the others’ code. What I am trying to say, that there could be a conflict, since someone says it works with this theme but not the theme I want. I advise him to check with the theme author, only. Anyway, I opened a specific thread for that issue. And Yes’ it’s usual now, if I do not answer in a day or less than 24hrs even, people start bashing and tell me they will find another solution so I am tired of having to convince them that other plugins usually give support in a few days, well – perhaps I set the level too high and people expect me to be alive in the forum 24/7 but I can’t, I have a life too, and I try to keep all support queries balanced. Thanks for giving me the chance to reply, and apologies.
