First of all you need not install UserPro all over again , you can opt for the reset option which will change the settings to the default UserPro settings OR you can re-install UserPro for which http://userproplugin.com/userpro/docs/#reinstall this link will help you.

About the issue you refer to with the badges , how were you able to trace it to this line please – what issue did this line cause ? can you please let me know what error message showed up ?
