Looks like there is a full agreement between customers, even who bought a seperate addon or two already. nice π
i agree with one multi plugin isntead several small with option to disable each function (favorites/messages etc..)
Ahmed,
Wouldn’t it make more sense to just stick it “ALL In One” and be done with it.
Just make each feature selectable, then you won’t have to worry about this kind of thing any more π
Or else a few months down the line …???///???
I would just keep it simple and be done!Just one question..
Is everyone going to have to re-purchase this ‘new addon pack’?
Even if they have purchased all the existing addons, plus the original extensions that are now included in the core? Thanks for all the recent updates!
Cheers
MikeAll in one doesn’t sound like such a bad idea… hope that people who bought them separately wont be mad. π
@houz4o
I believe some were before.
Some asked/got a refund.. Others just accepted it.My own personal view is, that I believe UserPro is well under-priced anyway and I’ve certainly got value for money.
But, if I had to pay a 3rd time while the late-comers continued to get it cheaper, I think it might start to get on my nerves a bit π
You see with most plugins the early comers & supporters tend to get it at the ‘early cheaper rate’ and as it develops the price then goes up.
Those who come later – therefore pay more… Just seems fairer to me.
With UserPro it’s the other way around – which I think is bit of a shame really.I say Pile it all into one now!!!
Hike the price UP!
We all pay Once for it again from now.
Then the price can increase for everyone else as it continues to improve and develop.
Happy days!Cheers
MikeIs everyone going to have to re-purchase this βnew addon packβ?
No. I’ve explained that people who bought at least one addon, won’t need to buy the addons pack again! That would be so unfair
I disagree to include it all into one now & in the future. π
The long term future goal would be to release UserPro (basic core functions) for free on http://wordpress.org/ & only sell the βUltimate Addons for UserProβ plugin for the same amount of what UserPro is now (or a bit more / but max 35 $) on CC.
Nearly the same principle as e.g. Yoast does it with his “WordPress SEO Premium” plugin.
Best regards,
keyhanjun@keyhanjun A freemium pricing strategy for wordpress plugins is probably quite an effective strategy to use, however it is pretty difficult to move to this pricing strategy if the plugin in question has been and is currently being sold for $30 dollars and has over 2000 people who have paid for the plugin.
I don’t know how Ahmed could introduce a free version to wordpress plugin directory without there being a whole load of fuss. The only way this could potentially work is if Ahmed was to offer a very basic and stripped back version of UserPro that only included 1 or 2 features. Just enough to entice people to purchase main plugin.
However, still not sure if that would work.
For sure you have to extend the following sentence from Ahmed:
No. Iβve explained that people who bought at least one addon, wonβt need to buy the addons pack again! That would be so unfair
…with all people who have bought UserPro till now!
Technically all what Ahmed had to do is to exchange the upload of UserPro with the βUltimate Addons for UserProβ, rename it (CC frontend side) & done. π
PS: The only drawback of this strategy I see would be that Ahmed would not have potential income via the “Extended License” theme authors had to pay him to include UserPro in their themes. But till now I have only seen some releases with UPME included but not with UP so far.
But in the long run this would make UserPro rock-solid instead of “seems pretty mature already”. π
But till now I have only seen some releases with UPME included but not with UP so far.
That’s not true. I’ve seen a few themes incorporated UserPro already in the themes and I have sold quite some extended licenses. I just didn’t bookmark these themes, usually people find them out by chance, I am not really aware of them but they exist in themeforest.
I do not have any plan to release a free version of UserPro on wordpress.org – and I will avoid customers complaining. Even if the rate of complaining customers is 5% I will do my best to avoid it. π
No matter what direction you will choose in the end I am sure UP will succeed & thanks for the heads-up! π
No. Iβve explained that people who bought at least one addon, wonβt need to buy the addons pack again! That would be so unfair
Yes you did. – I’m sorry I totally missed that.
Can’t argue with that then π
