Dear Ahmed,
I’ve recently installed userpro (today I’ve updated it to the newest version & buddypress 1.9.1 is installed, too) at our NGO’s website, and found that there are some problems (/bugs) concerning the following these pages:
1: http://academicsstand.org/members-2-2/
If you register for membership on our website and fill in the required fields (such as name, country, upload, photo etc.), the member’s directory page will show your nationality, the uploaded photo, and also the social media buttons and the email button display the correct information you registered. However, the user’s name is not displayed in the directory. I’ve checked the settings and it seems the name field is definitely activated, so in theory it should appear on the directory page.2: http://academicsstand.org/profile-2-2/
Another problem, which arguably is worse than the first, appears whenever you click on the “view profile” button that appears on each user’s interface listed in the directory.
After clicking, you will be redirected to a random user page, which seems random because it is called “my profile” and does not contain the profile picture or any other information that was registered. The only information available appears when hovering over the e-mail button: the email address is displayed but does not correspond to the one which is registered but to a fake spam account.It would be great if you could help us with these issues, as I’ve tried out many things which didn’t work. I sent you the login credentials separately in a private message.
Many thanks in advance,
Johannes
@Rachel – Probably a good idea to remove your purchase code from post, as it may be grabbed!
You can add your Envato purchase code to your profile on this site.
A badge will then be added to your profile for support (Ahmed) to view.Hi Rachel, please put the purchase code in your profile.
Thank you 🙂
I notice something important, do you use something else for permalink structure? basicallly if you use first/last name this may not work on profiles that do not have fist+last name filled.
I guess that’s why your own profile does not show the display name
looks like you modified these settings:
$output = $user->display_name;
if (userpro_get_option(‘user_display_name’) == ‘name’) $output = $userpro->get_full_name($user_id);
if (userpro_get_option(‘user_display_name_key’)) $output = userpro_profile_data( userpro_get_option(‘user_display_name_key’), $user_id);I guess you changed the setting to display name to full name, then profiles without full names will be broken, in permalink and in members view. that’s the reason. But if you make the display name show display name by default, this should fix its appearance. 🙂
remember: this setting (I am almost sure its causing the issues) is here:
Settings > General User Display Name Field option should be Display Nameif you changed this to full name, and permalink setting to full name, your profiles that do not have full names will be broken and no name will appear for the profile 🙂
Dear Ahmed,
Thank you so much for your response. It’s very helpful. I have requested verification of my account, so hopefully my profile will reflect that soon.
I was wondering if you could address one other problem we have been having. What do you make of the following?
http://academicsstand.org/profile-2-2/
Whenever you click on the “view profile” button that appears on each user’s interface listed in the directory.
After clicking, you will be redirected to a random user page, which seems random because it is called “my profile” and does not contain the profile picture or any other information that was registered. The only information available appears when hovering over the e-mail button: the email address is displayed but does not correspond to the one which is registered but to a fake spam account.Dear Ahmed,
do you have an idea how to solve the second problem Rachel mentioned?
Yours and many thanks for your help,
Johannes
