In Display online users in horizontal list, how can I increase icon size from 30px x 30px to 57px x 57px?

You can modify the relevant CSS class for your changes.
You can create a global CSS override or edit the original files or place them in your theme folder to not loose updates.

I have a child theme style.css that does not seem to override the userpro style.css – how do you suggest i set up a global css override for userpro that will not get overwritten?

Hey, you actually do not need css rules for that. There’s already an option to customize the online user thumbnail:

add this to shortcode online_thumb=57 🙂
