[userpro template=memberlist_v2=1 memberlist_paginate=1 per_page=12 memberlist_default_search=1] perfectly fine setup. What’s confusing in that?
I just found it confusing when I initally tried to set up the member page when I was trying to select different options and combining it with multiple search functions. The shortcode was very long and I just wasnt sure what the deal was regarding where there should be spaces and commas and whether I should use V2 or V1. Just thought it would be useful and helpful to new users to have some longer examples which include different possibilites such as search, dropdown, checkbox etc so they can see how it is all layed out.
Just a suggestion

I have not documented the search filters (dropdowns) yet. 🙂
As a side note, I just added couple of tutorials to memberlist Showing custom field / showing specific roles, in the docs. And I’ll keep working on it. Do not worry 😉
Again, novices like myself and peem have trouble “building” shortcodes. I’m getting better now but the front end publisher shortcodes still give me problems.
You have the following on the docs:
How to Embed This Shortcode in Editor
[userpro template=memberlist]
How to Embed This Shortcode with PHP
<?php echo do_shortcode(‘[userpro template=memberlist]’); ?>
What I suggest you do to help novices is to add another example to that that shows a shortcode using as many fields as possible, like this:
How to Embed This Shortcode in Editor
[userpro template=memberlist]
Example of customized Shortcode
[userpro template=memberlist memberlist_v2=0 memberlist_pic_size=50 memberlist_pic_topspace=0 memberlist_pic_sidespace=0 memberlist_pic_rounded=0 memberlist_paginate=0 memberlist_show_name=0 memberlist_popup_view=1 memberlist_withavatar=1 search=0 per_page=28 memberlist_width=100%]How to Embed This Shortcode with PHP
<?php echo do_shortcode(‘[userpro template=memberlist]’); ?>
Then people can see it and customize it. I know that would help me, and will probably cut down on all the questions about shortcodes.
I thought that was obvious because I added a sample on how to apply shortcode options.. where [userpro template=xxx option=value] so u need to replace the option and assign value you want as explained in shortcode options. 🙂
Thanks, Ahmed. 🙂
I love how you’re on top of this stuff so fast, it definitely inspires confidence and I’ll certainly be buying some of your other plugins as the scope of my project increases.
When can we expect the minor update to the fix Post from front end bug?
The frontend publisher bug is fixed already.. I am posting an update to customer portal now 😉 Check in 5mins
Just to confirm – Bug appears to be fixed in updated version. 🙂
Thanks!~ Now await the frontend shortcode options in the documentation – I’ll deal with some customer issues then write the docs. 😉
You’re welcome. Do you have new suggestions to be added ASAP? I am working on Frontend publisher now
