It’s set to 6 but the page members displays 12. The reason I want it to set to 6 for example is that I hope that page will load faster.

Do I mis a setting?

To set number of members per page, you can control it via shortcode option:

per_page=6 in your memberlist shortcode.

Example:

[userpro per_page=6 template=memberlist]
