I’ll try to setup seperate redirects (login / register) for Social connect (other than facebook already) and I’ll keep you posted on this thread about the progress – v1.0.88 is still in WORK
Found an issue with facebook connect with chrome on an ipad. Not sure if this is an issue with your code or with the facebook feature itself but when I try to connect to my site on ipad using chrome I get the following message: Google Chrome for iOS does not support this feature. Please use Safari and try again. Im guessing that because the error is appearing on the facebook site, that it is a facebook issue and not a userpro issue but just thought I would let you know incase you know of a work around to this?
Is it possible to display the Social Connect via modal or lightbox ?
It is but it may be because of how you have implemented it with UserPro. I just tried facebook social login to vimeo and mashable on ipad using chrome and no such error appeared. Only appears when trying social login with userpro so far. Will try a few more sites but you may want to look into this.
Are you using WordPress 3.91? I updated to the newest version of wordpress and all my userpro settings have been reset. Profile fields are still there but the global settings are all back to the original default version. I updated WordPress and 2 plugins (ithemes security and WP-Optimise) and before that everything was fine. As well as settings being reset it also caused my userpro logout page to break so I had to recreate the pages.
Would be interested to know if you have updated to the latest version without problem as then I can try and find out if it was one of the plugins.
Thanks
Ahmed can you please add the social shortcode to your demo. I am testing the new shortcode on different browsers on mobile/ tablet and I want to check if a potential issue I have found can be replicated on your demo and is not just specific to my site.
Thanks
Ok Ahmed I have tested a couple of other sites (buzzfeed & spotify) which both bring up the same message “browser not supported”. So it is not a userpro issue but since it works with some sites and not with others I guess there is a configuration method to allow for it to work.
I have had a look at the url of both mashable and vimeo on their facebook redirect page. They have http://m.facebook.com/v1.0/dialog/oauth?redirect_uri=http….(followed by lots of letters and numbers).
The sites (including UserPro) do not include this v1.0 part. Maybe this is the key to getting it to work?
Also can I suggest that you go and try the social connect feature on vimeo. Their facebook setup seems like the proper way to do it (e.g. asks for permission to post).
Anyway hope that helps a bit
Ah, so I should add the v1.0 to my config/setup to make it work and that’s it? Where that’s added? Is there any explaination about this when integrating Facebook social connect?
