We have it hooked up to a plugin that pulls information from our server from each user. For one user, each time she logs in, her first name disappears from the directory and profile URL. When we manually add it back in, it disappears again when she logs in again. Any idea why this is happening? Display name publicly is first name and last name.

It is only happening for her profile. After she logs in, the directory now shows only her last name as her display name, and her profile link only contains her last name as well.

It would be difficult to tell anything without checking her profile page .

There might be some conflicting issue with other plugins or theme installed in your WordPress Site . Can you please try disabling the plugins one by one and switch to default theme and see if anyone of them is causing the issues and let me know .

You can create her profile again on your site and see if problem goes .
