I am trying to create custom fields for the frontend post editor. I need to be able to have a couple drop down options, some radio buttons, and some other custom fields. Is this even possible to do and then have them show up in the post? I have tried doing this with just regular text fields and the content typed into the custom fields don’t appear on the published post. I also need to know if there is a way via the registration form to automatically assign a role based on which custom registration form they fill out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Frontend publisher does not support dropdrown fields. Please see the docs again for frontend publish.
How do I get the regular fields to display on the posts then? The way I have it working now I get the custom fields along with a bunch of other fields I didn’t create or populate on the post.
Thank youFrontend publisher accepts title, category, featured image, or custom post meta fields. Custom post meta can be setup by reading the docs here:
post_meta – A comma seperated list of meta keys to collect on the frontend publisher (Post Meta). The value should be keys only e.g. custom_url,_my_custom_meta_key,etc.
post_meta_labels – Required if you use the above option. A comma seperated list of labels to present the meta keys you want to collect. e.g. Custom URl,Thumbnail URL,etc.I’ll post this as a separate question
I have a similar question. I’ve set up the the Custom Fields in WP and made a page with the following shortcode:[userpro template=publish post_type=modelprojects post_meta="model-brands,model-time" post_meta_labels="Brand(s) used,Time spent"]
This displays the correct fields in the frontend publisher, but when I fill them out and submit the post it is not registered in the actual post (blank fields in the WP Dashboard edit screen). What am I doing wrong?
