I believe the shortcode you would use would be [userpro template=memberlist memberlist_v2_fields=artists_type] (presuming the field is to have the key of artist_type).

Specifically:
[userpro template=memberlist]
This shortcode displays the member directory. The shortcode has many options that you can customize.

memberlist_v2_fields
A comma seperated list of fields that will be displayed below user name in member directory. By default this option is set to memberlist_v2_fields=age,gender,country by default. To customize this option pass a comma seperated list of fields to display here. Example: memberlist_v2_fields=city,age,country

Have a look at all the pages available. Once you get the hang of it, these things are pretty easy to figure out.
Most pages contain shortcodes where the example is. The shortcode reference describes most of the filters and how to use them.
