I am unable to connect my Facebook account with my existing admin account on my website. Is there a way to do this? Thank you.
Is there still support from Ahmed here? Or is it just other users? Still need some help with this and a couple other posts. Thank you.
Hi Erica I’m Don…I new here too. I think it’s as simply as adding your FACebook Name in the Available FB Fiend in your settings. After you save this info, it should update and you should see it under your profile photo as an avaiable Icon Link straigh to your FB Account. I may be wrong, I’d ask SUpport or Central Geek they Know Everything About Support Issues Here. Such A Great Team, I’m sure you’ll get an answer if my suggestion doesn’t work. Blessings.
My Answer was Quite Wrong Erica…Sorry Sis. I’m Still Learning. You May have to go into your FB account setting and set up API permission first.
Don, thanks for your reply, no problem 🙂 I did add my FB info in the field, but that didn’t help connecting/logging in. It’s not a huge deal for me but I know some of my users that registered prior to UserPro will want to know how to connect their accounts too. I will have to check in FB account settings. In the mean time, anyone else who might have ideas, I’m open!
Hi @Erica,
I must apologize. I don’t use the Facebook features. Personally I really dislike Facebook. However, I haven’t responded to this thread because I thought Ahmed would take a look at it. Ahmed had thought I use Facebook features and believed I would get to this one. So, there was a misunderstanding. It was not ignored on purpose by either of us.
Though I don’t use the feature, I am more than happy to take a look and see if I can assist you.
Would you mind sending me your website URL. I can see if there are any errors showing.
In future, it would help if when asking for help with something like this, to include the URL of the site so that someone can take a look at the site to determine if there are any errors.
If I cannot see any errors, I will need to have admin access to determine if there are any plugin conflicts. I have been able to assist in resolving several plugin conflicts by either having the conflicting plugin deactivated and reporting the conflict to Ahmed, or if the plugin is needed, just reporting the conflict and Ahmed resolving whatever the conflict is. He has been very good at handling the conflicts.
If there is a bug, I definitely want to be able to report it and get it resolved.
Again, my apologies. 🙂
@CentralGeek,
No problem, thanks for your response 🙂 My url is http://www.minnesotapreemies.com/preview (Site is behind coming soon pro since I’ve been making a lot of changes, so you have to go to /preview first).
I will send admin details in an e-mail to you.
Erica
Many apologies Erica I am really busy with the new addons and all. What’s the main trouble you having to connect your Facebook? What error you get? Any hints that point to the issue? Awaiting your reply (or email)
No problem, new features are always good!!
I am the main admin for my site of course. I have added the link to my Facebook profile in my userpro profile. However, if I want to log in with Facebook on my site, or connect my Facebook account to my existing admin account, the two don’t understand each other, and logging in with Facebook creates another user (myself, my personal Facebook account), instead of linking it to my already existing admin account. I think I made that too wordy but hope it makes sense 🙂
Thank you!
When connecting a Facebook account to a pre registered account do the emails on file need to match?
For example my registered email on Facebook is [email protected] and on my site my admin account is registered with [email protected].
Do we need to make the emails the same in order to connect accounts?
Erica, NICE WEBSITE SIs!!! Very Clean and easy to read and understand. Great Work. I still can’t get the Facebook feature in my PROFILE to work, It keeps sending me BACK to my profile page. I don’t understand what is wrong. I’m still working on that…..Someone please help us with this. ANYONE who has Successfully Connected Their Facebook Acount to their profile or social login.
