Currently I have a custom field in the registration form that lets people opt out of being in the directory. When I see opt out = true, I manually go in to the member directory shortcode and exclude their user ID. But as my membership grows, this is going to be a pain. I have to watch for opt out preference changes each time a member updates their profile and there is no easy way to let them know the exclusion won’t happen automatically. They have to wait for me to see it and act on it.
