We are working on a client website that has Woocommerce installed with a specific user role to handle the shop (Shop Manager).

The Shop Manager needs to access the backend the same way the Administrator does but when the UserPro has front-end redirection activated then this is not possible.

How can I add the dashboard access for another extra role (so Administrator and Shop Manager) but still keep away the backend access for the lower user roles?

It is really important. Thanks!

Thanks!

I was testing with White Label Branding plugin and it looks like they work well together. I have created roles with WLB which are very limited, then I allow the back-end access in general via UserPro but still the limited roles cannot access the backend because of their rights.

In general, this solves my problem but if you have any other suggestions achieving what I am asking for only by using UserPro it will be very valuable.

Cheers,
Milena

Are you looking for options to include specific roles to backend access or specific users?

Let us know which one for you is easier to implement:

– just specific roles
– just specific users
– both

In general, I think specific roles have bigger impact and better feature ranking as this is handy in membership websites with user registrations and etc., so we don’t have to check user by user.

On the other side, the specific user is handy when generally the registered users have nothing to do on the back-end, but there is a website maintenance team lower than administrator, which can be added separately as users allowed to access the back-end.

It depends completely on the website scenario and the service it offers.

This is not any kind of urgent request or feature but it will be good to know your thoughts about it and what you could consider in the coming weeks.

Thanks.

I know you are very busy with the shortcode docs but this question is related to a live website, which we are adding UserPro to.

A solution is urgently needed.

It is really important to solve the issue as the team members of the company are using ShopManager roles and they HAVE to access the back-end. The ShopManager role is lower than admin but higher than Editor with some specific Woocommerce allowance.

I am looking forward to hearing from you,
Milena

I just saw the changelog file. I see the update in 1.0.70.

I will test it now and let you know.

Thanks.

the feature is working well.

Is it possible to update the functionality, so for the written extra user roles that have access to the back-end, we can have the same choice as for the admin “Redirect Admins to Dashboard always”?

Thanks.

I tried the following:

1. All redirects back-end to front-ends for users are set to Yes.

2. I have a specific user role that has access to the back-end.

3. In the Custom Redirects I specified all users with this role to be redirected to the dashboard after login by filling up the necessary URL to redirect to.

It all works well!

Thanks again for the functionality, Ahmed.

Plus, the new options allow you to set specific roles to view the backend, beside Admins. This solves a lot of issues with roles needing access to backend.

Let me know if anything else is needed.
